Data Center Technician

Main responsibilities
- Ensuring the proper functioning, maintenance and repair of Telecommunications and IT systems and equipment.
- Telecommunications technicians are responsible for implementing and maintaining the operational communications infrastructure within existing networks.
- Check the status of alarms directly or through the maintenance team in order to improve/streamline the operation of air conditioning power supply equipment, HVAC equipment, fire detection and extinguishing systems, electricity generators, condensate evacuation pumps, etc.
- Installation of electronic modules or subcomponents of IT and Telecommunications equipment.
- Cabling between various equipment/components (optical/electrical signal).
- Ensures access for clients/partners/contractors to the DataCenter site in accordance with the access procedure.
Requirements
- Experience in the field.
- Good knowledge of equipment operation – HVAC, DC Power Supplies, UPS.
- General knowledge of Telecom Technician and IT hardware.
- General knowledge of electrical equipment installation.
- General knowledge of transmissions: active and passive equipment (optical connectivity: patches, ODF / ethernet connectivity).
- PC work experience (MS office: Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Secondary education: vocational school, high school, technical post-secondary school, college.
- Availability to work in 12/24 and 12/48 shifts.
